Two artists.
One gallery.
A whole lotta art.
The Laundromat Gallery is owned and operated by artists Jeremy Kane and Meghan Chambers. While we wouldn’t call it a traditional exhibit space, we would call it a dedicated art spot with a slick retro vibe. The Gallery is proud to showcase rotating exhibits in all media from across all corners of our state and country. The Gallery highlights the local talent of our vibrant Juneau community and Southeast region, as well as infusing outside works from across the nation into the Juneau scene.
Located in picturesque Auke Bay, the Gallery is a hidden gem just a stone’s throw from a busy local harbor and seaside neighborhood. We delight in the slower pace of life out the road, where you run into your friend at the brewery next door, score some shrimp for dinner from the harbor, and watch the ferries commute along the marine highway.
Jeremy “Jr” Kane holds an MFA in ceramics from Ohio State University and is a Professor of Ceramics at University of Alaska Southeast Juneau. His work in both functional and conceptual pottery explores the relationships between form, surface, commercialization and fine art through medium of clay. Hot Jr gossip: he’s a frontman and banjo player in Takin’ Care of Bluegrass, with licks faster than the devil can fly and harmonies sweeter than your mama’s cherry pie.
Meghan Chambers is the artist and owner of Salt Water Press, a letterpress print and design studio in Juneau. She dabbles in everything from greeting cards to stationery to gig posters. Her fine art works in linoleum carving depict the flora and fauna of Southeast Alaska via bold colors and a captivating folk art style. Hot Meghan gossip: she’s a pretend Canadian (dual-citizen, suckers), real wood type addict, and true lover of Italian cheeses.
